Awards for Chipstead Farmer
Many of you will know Richard Kent, of Crossways Farm in Upper Gatton. Richard has been involved with the Chipstead community for many years and also farms Neil’s Field at Couldson Lane.
This year Richard has scooped a clutch of awards, and has won the most outstanding crop for his winter oats at the 2012 Surrey Farms Competition, run by the Surrey County Agricultural Society in June. The farm also scooped two other first prizes for its oats and barley, and a second prize for the wheat crop.
Richard said: "I have four really good staff who are really keen on what they do and it's the second year in a row we have won most outstanding crop”.
