Farnrise Construction is currently completing the fabric of the Junior Church building. The roof is now sealed and the glazing for the large doors and windows is fully installed. Principal activities are now confined to landscaping and the fitting out of the building interior.

Commissioning of the underfloor heating system and the installation of lighting, air conditioning, alarm systems and floor finishes are all proceeding well. Diggers are landscaping the sub-soil from the building excavation to create a large raised area in front of the building, to be followed by the re-laying of topsoil and planting. This work has become more difficult as a result of the heavy rainfall over recent weeks. The Church has decided to delay planting the building roof and the landscaped areas until better weather conditions prevail for grass seed germination in the Autumn. They do, however, hope to make use of the building in early September.

Once completed, the building will have a total area of 600 sq. metres (about 6000 sq. ft), with a flexible room arrangement provided by folding partitions. With a large solar gain provided by the windows, and natural insulation provided by being sunk into the ground, the building should be energy efficient.

The Church is currently organizing a further campaign to raise additional funds for the final building completion, together with furniture, internal fittings and audio/video systems.
