Elmore Road, Chipstead, Surrey, CR5 3SG
The Peter Aubertin Hall is situated next to Elmore Pond, the Meads and the children’s Recreation Ground and is the focal point of Chipstead. It is also the centre of many of the village community activities such as the Chipstead Pre-school, the Bridge Clubs, Women’s Institute and Flower Club.
The PA Hall, as it is commonly known, was built in 1906 and built on land given by Lord Hylton. It was named after the father and son rectors, who from 1808 presided over the parish for 81 years.
It is a large hall with a separate kitchen area with serving hatch. The kitchen is well equipped with oven, microwave, fridge, kettles and urns. Cutlery and crockery for up to 100 people can be hired for a minimal cost. There are also tables and chairs available for up to 100 people. There is ample convenient car parking in the Meads car park. It is also available for hire for events such as children’s parties, weddings, baptisms and meetings.
Please email pahallbookings@googlemail.com for availability and cost.

The Club was formed in 1965 as a Senior Citizens Club to consider the care of elderly parishioners and to organise suitable activities and entertainment. In the millennium year they renamed their group and opened it to all ages.
Thanks to the church the club is able to meet at the PA Hall free of charge once a month. This is held on the second Wednesday every month with doors opening at 2pm for a 2.30 start. There used to be about 30 members who enjoyed quizzes, entertainment, bingo, beetle drives and talks.
Numbers have dwindled but member still meet and enjoy a cup of tea, a piece of cake, a chance of a chinwag and companionship. The highlight of the year is a Christmas luncheon at Chipstead Golf Club.
Any new members are very much welcome.
Subscription is only £2 per annum.

The Friends of St Margaret’s Church was founded some 15 years ago by Jim Scott. It is a non-religious fund raising organisation with charitable status whose aims are to raise funds for the fabric of our beautiful Norman Parish Church in the heart of the village. The money we raise goes directly to the church to pay for projects deemed to be beneficial. For example, the charity has paid for the repairs and improvements to the West Door. We were instrumental in having the sound system installed. In the near future we will be starting a programme of works which will improve the church, not only for worshippers but to make sure that the building is kept sound and secure.
The Committee is made up of local men and women who feel strongly about the church building and its environs.
We raise money from various fund raising activities. In the past these have included Summer Balls, Suppers, a Magic evening, an auction of promises and a silent auction. In the future we hope to hold more local events that will encourage residents and neighbouring villages to become more involved with the ‘Friends’.
We meet as a Committee usually once a quarter, and we hold events on an irregular basis, depending on what the Committee feel would be fun to organise. Many of our functions are held at the Peter Aubertin Hall.
We are constantly seeking new members to join us and simply ask for a one off payment of £25 per person for Life Membership. If you would like to know more details please do not to hesitate to contact us.
