Chipstead Branch of the RNLI
Introducing the RNLI
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution is a registered charity that provides a 24-hour on-call search and rescue service out to 100 miles from the coast, the tidal reaches of the River Thames, selected inland waterways and seasonal lifeguard services on various beaches in the south and south west of England. The RNLI is independent from Government and relies exclusively on voluntary contributions and legacies for its income.
The Chipstead Branch of the RNLI
The Chipstead Branch of the RNLI was formed in 1985 and has 4 main events each year: a house to house collection in March, a collection outside Sainsbury’s in May, a stall at the Flower Show in July and a Quiz Night or similar fun evening in the autumn.
How to Support the RNLIThe most practical ways of supporting the RNLI are by having a collection box at home for your loose change and by helping during the house to house and Sainsbury’s collections. There are also various adult membership schemes and one for children. In addition, you can make a donation at any time, or make a legacy in your Will that leaves money – tax-free - to the RNLI.
