The Sunday parking in High Road is getting worse.

This morning there were cars parked all the way from the Cricket Club to Starrock Lane. They all park on the grass verge, which is destroying the grass, or on the pavement which blocks the path for pedestrians.

Surely it is the responsibility of the Rugby Club to find an acceptable solution. This is an ongoing problem that no-one seems willing sort-out. If this situation annoys you please become pro-active and help find a solution.

(This is an ongoing problem, which the CRA and CVPS have been actively trying to address and solve.

The CVPS is looking into laying porous car parking panelling (Grasscrete or similar) which allows grass to grow through on the Meads to facilitate 50 cars to park at peak times. The CVPS are also active in putting posts on Vincent's Green to prevent the verges being destroyed and had a meeting with Surrey Highways last week to discuss this.

The CRA and CVPS have had previous discussions with the Rugby club who do take responsibility and are aware of the village nuisance and inconvenience.

The CRA intend to invite representatives from the Rugby Club to a forthcoming committee meeting.

It should be said that it is marvellous that so many parents and youngsters take part in mini -rugby on a Sunday morning and this should not be discouraged. However, it could be argued that the number of people attending Sunday rugby has simply outgrown the capacity of the village to accomodate it - Ed)
